How to Maintain Liposuction Results

Summer is over and, along with it, the inviting and warm days that allow for plenty of healthy recreation outside. If you’ve upped your activity to enhance or maintain your liposuction results, it can be useful to consider indoor activities that can be performed during the cooler months.

Of course, things like walking and jogging can easily be continued outdoors throughout the winter in Northern California – just be sure to dress appropriately and be mindful of the impact colder weather can have on the skin. Although, countering the effects of winter weather with proper skin care can help guard against many of these issues.

Workout at Home or in Public?

There are several gyms in and around Los Altos that offer introductory rates. If you are inclined to join a gym, try a few out to get a better idea of which one is best for you. Once you’ve decided, consider working with one of their trainers to ensure you are getting the most out of your workout.

Many of the gyms and independent studios in our area offer cardiovascular and strength-building group classes such as power yoga, Pilates, HIT, and Zumba, and our local parks and recreation department offers healthy year-round activities as well. There are so many options, the hardest part might be picking just one.

If you are comfortable working out on your own, consider building a home gym or simply picking up a set of weights. Several apps and VOD options can help enhance your at-home workout. Try to stick to a routine, even at home, to help ensure consistent results.

Eat Healthily

The CDC recommends adults get at least 150 minutes of moderate-intensity or 75 minutes of vigorous-intensity aerobic activity weekly. This is made easier through healthy eating. 

Choose whole foods, avoid processed foods and added sugars, and eat a variety of fresh fruits and vegetables to maintain your liposuction results. As with exercising, if you struggle with making ideal food choices, consider working with a nutritionist to craft a meal plan that works for your needs.
